I’m planning out a big upgrade to my effects rig! It includes A rack system for half of my effects (including a switch brick to tidy up the floor set up as well as implementing a true bypass system to allow the signal to skip effects not in use), clean isolated power supplies for everything, and storage and traveling would move from an old suitcase to the rack case that’s meant to protect equipment.
There are a number of benefits aside from dramatically improving the clarity and consistency of the sound/signal. Not only will it provide adequate housing, but some of my favorite and most defining effects will be permanently mounted away from spilling beers and stumbling show-go-ers. No more readjusting settings multiple times a show, no more replacing beer-soaked electronics…
