Spoon - Is Love Forever (from their new record, Transference)
I saw Spoon last night at Mercury Lounge with Petra. Rather than go see them at Radio City with 6000 people in March, Petra decided to wait on line outside with other rabid fans for most of the afternoon to gain entry to the very intimate 250 capacity venue.
Spoon is great. I tend to ignore bands that didn’t come out of the Pacific Northwest in the early 90s (or anywhere in the 60s and 70s), but last night was great and I am now a Spoon fan. We’re actually going to be in L.A. for Passover during the weekend of the Radio City show, otherwise I’d probably want to go see them there too.
Spoon is Petra’s favorite band and I love that she was willing to wait it out and get us in. It was well worth it, and I dig having an almost-wife that’s willing to do stuff like that for music she loves.
