You’re right GOP: you should try and block the nomination of Justice Sonia Sotomayor. So what if she came from poverty, got into Princeton and was editor of the Yale Law review. Once in a generation legal mind my ass. Brilliant Jurist and Minority are mutually exclusive. Here’s why you should block her confirmation:
1. She’s hispanic. Hispanics can’t be trusted. We already have the black President, we don’t need the hispanic Justice. Have we not reached our affirmative action quota for this decade?
2. She doesn’t save enough money, probably related to item #1. How can she be a good judge with only $50k in the bank? Maybe she should get out of the West Village and move to Brooklyn or Queens with the rest of the mexicans.
3. She’s going to “Legislate from the Bench.” Now, I don’t know what Legislate means, but my friends at the Christian Broadcasting Network tell me that Sotomayor’s comment that the “court of appeals is where policy is made” hints that she may overstep her powers as a justice and begin legislating from the bench. What a great talking point! Lets keep repeating that one again and again and see what happens…
